Darlene Yvonne Grier

Darlene Grier, 85 years old; passed away on March 24, 2024 at Gulf Coast Village, Cape Coral, Florida. Darlene graduated from Miami Valley Hospital (Dayton, Ohio) Nursing School; and was a nurse for over 50 years. She was very proud of the unusual hat that was associated with her nursing school. Everyone’s joke was that it looked like a “gunboat”!
Darlene made many friends over the years, and she was the kind of person who kept those people as friends forever. The last few years were very difficult, but she did try to contact her friends whenever possible, and they stayed in touch with her when they could. Her “go to” was to ask “how are you doing”? She was always really concerned about your life and health - No matter how bad she was feeling.
She was smart (Masters Degree), hard working (50+ years with the last years riding a 3 wheel scooter at work), compassionate and empathetic (took care of both her parents during their last years), and will not be forgotten by those who loved her!
