Betty graduated from Cranford High School in 1943. Betty worked in New York City for a couple of years and met her first husband Joseph Newman during her daily commute, as he was usually the train’s engineer. Joseph passed away unexpectedly in 1969. After Joseph’s passing Betty attended and graduated from Union County Technical Institute in New Jersey earning a degree to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. Betty met her second husband, M. Betty was active at Faith Presbyterian Church of Cape Coral, Florida, where Bolin was an Associate Pastor for a time. Betty through the years enjoyed arts and crafts, collecting shells, breeding and providing loving homes for Yorkshire Terriers and, most of all, her church community friends and family.
Left behind to cherish Betty’s memory are her sons, Peter (Kathy), Robert and Thomas (Kay), her grandchildren, Michael, Katie, Rachel, Joseph and Caleb, great grandchildren, Sophia, Maxwell, Ivy, Marley and Reese, many nieces and nephews, as well as her Faith Presbyterian Church and PEO families. Betty was pre-deceased by Joseph Newman, M. Bolin Durway, her daughter Leslie, her step-daughter Janice and her beloved dog Buffy.
