Evelyn (Evie) Bleiler, 98, Ft. Myers, FL passed away 4 Nov. 2017.  She was born 29 Nov. 1918 in Palmerton, PA to James and Martha (Walk) Oswald.  Evie was married for 67 years to James H. Bleiler and lived with him in Dayton, OH, New York City, Palmerton, PA, Pensacola, FL, Washington, D.C., Hagerstown, MD, St. Louis, MO, Cape Coral, FL, and Ft. Myers, FL.  She received a Registered Nursing degree from Reading School of Nursing and worked at Reading Hospital and Barnes Hospital in St. Louis where she was director of nurses for one floor until her marriage to Jim.  Evelyn was very active in the Lutheran Church, was soloist in the choir, and served in countless volunteer capacities thru out her life.  For many years she volunteered as a Head Start assistant teacher in the St. Louis area. 
     Evie is survived by her sons John (Sheryl), Philip (Chong), and Steve, grandchildren Lisa and Brian, and great grandchild Dylan Badiga.  She is predeceased by her brother Clarence, and sisters Marion Bell, Pauline Stevens, and Mildred Steigerwalt.
     Burial will be in the Lower Towmensing Cemetery, Palmerton, PA on 10 Nov. 2017.
