Hermann A. Voss passed away on April 17, 2017 at 86 years of age. He was born on February 11, 1931 in Luggeweise, Germany and emmigrated to the USA on July 11, 1956. Hermann was president of Hermann A. Voss, Builder, Tocks Island Homes, Inc. and Tocks Island Estates. He built over 300 custom homes in New Jersey.
He and his wife Johanna moved to Cape Coral in 1992 and enjoyed the sunshine, the German American Social Club, Boating, Traveling, Reading, and Gardening.
He was past president and honorary president of the Duetscher Schul & Gesangverein Germania Park, Dover, N.J. Founding member of the United German Heritage Museum (VDAK) Washington, D.C. and past president of the German American Social Club of Cape Coral.
To many who knew him, he was Hermann the German and was best known for his wonderful life's stories.
He leaves behind wife, Johanna C. Voss; son, Arthur J. Voss (and wife Michelle Voss) of Cape Coral, FL; son, Michael G. Voss (and wifeChristine R. Voss) of North Carolina; daughter, Christine Voss Dawson of Greenwood Lake, NY; step-daughter, Tanya J. Sullivan (and son in law, Michael) of Franklin, NJ; stepson, Eric J. Eylenstein (and wife Kathy) of Jamison, PA; and grandchildren, Jeremy Voss of Washington State, Nicholas Voss of Cape Coral, FL, Tyler Dawson of Greenwood Lake, NY, Garrett Dawson of Greenwood Lake, NY, Chelsea A. Sullivan of Sussex, NJ, Andrew A. Sullivan of Sussex, NJ, Stephan A. Sullivan of Sussex, NJ, James De Nofa Eylenstein of Jamison, PA, Danica L. Eylenstein of New Jersey, and Michael E. Voss of Seattle, WA; as well as sister, Hannelore Meier in Oelde Germany and niece, Anita Thimm in Tasmania, Australia.
He was our rock and mentor of all the Voss's and extensions and we will miss him dearly.
A memorial service will be held at the Faith Presbyterian Church 4544 Coronado Blvd. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at 11:00AM followed by refreshments at the German American Social Club.
