To Matt's family- I worked with Matt at V-SPAN. He was one of the most vibrant, warm, funny, lively, smart, respected and hardworking people I've ever known. Though it's been years since I've seen him, his name has come up in countless conversations about the good times at V-SPAN. Always, his name would bring smiles, laughs and endless memories of fun times together. It's hard to adequately describe how loved Matt was, and it's impossible to think about Matt without smiling. I'm so very sorry for your loss. Matt leaves the world a better place for having lived, and a sadder place for having left us. You will remain in my thoughts and prayers for a long time to come. You left an indelible impression on so many people, and were loved by all of your friends who had the pleasure of knowing you throughout the years. We laughed (often), cried, and learned to lean on each other during challenging times both inside and outside of work.
I will treasure all of our memories and remember you fondly as a friend, mentor, and brother. Thank you for all of the knowledge you shared as a co-worker, and more importantly the kindness displayed as a human being. Your spirit and smile are forever etched upon my life.
