Roy Clark Johnson, affectionately known as, "Royboy", passed away at his home in Cape Coral, FL on April 15, 2017. He was 77 years old. Roy was born in Morgantown, WV on January 1, 1940. He was a graduate of the Warren G. Harding High School Class of 1958. Shortly after graduation, Roy joined the United States Navy and served his country with honor. He became interested in aviation and became a civilian parachutist in the 1960's. Eventually he became a certified pilot and retired from Continental Airlines. Roy had been a resident of Cape Coral since 2000, after moving from his previous home in Ohio.
He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Laura Johnson; son, Jeffrey Lemmon (and wife Ailene); daughter, Brenda Varner; grandchildren, Jenna Varner, Alexa Lemmon, Adam Lemmon, Ashley Lemmon, and Desirae Lemmon; as well as nephews, John and Michael Alexi; and niece Christine Flowers. He was preceded in death by parents, Lawrence and Mina Johnson, as well as sister, Ellen Johnson, and son, Donny Lemmon.
A memorial gathering will be held on Thursday, April 20, 2017 at 4:00PM at the Fuller Metz Funeral Chapel in Cape Coral, FL. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Roy's memory to the Florida Cancer Society at https://donate3.cancer.org/?lang=en
