Sidney “Sid” A. Swink, 81, of Cape Coral passed away Thursday February 1, 2018 under the care of Hope Hospice. Sid was born in Houston, TX to the late Douglas and Trudy Swink. After graduating from West Monroe, LA High School he attended Louisiana Tech. Sid also served in the US Army Reserve. He married Carolyn Hancock in 1959 who preceded him in death in 2000. While living in Monroe, LA, Sid owned and operated a general contracting business. He moved to Cape Coral in 1977. In Cape Coral he continue to work in the contracting Business until his retirement in 2011. Sid was active in Pop Warner Football and Babe Ruth Leagues in the mid 70”s to early 80’s. He also was active in fundraising for the Stadium seating at Cape Coral High School. Later in life he was very active as a volunteer and supporter of South West Florida Horse Rescue
He is survived by his wife of 15 years Susan of Cape Coral, three sons Mark (Lorrie) of Lake Mary, Fl, Scott (Cindy) of Buda, TX, and Jeff (Tracie) of Winter Park, Fl, Step son John (Charity) Pacifici, of Tampa, Fl, eight grandchildren; Douglas (Megan), Derek and Kyle, Austin (Chelsea), Kolton, Casey (Carey), Ashley, and Jessie, two step grandchildren Patrick and Liam, two great granddaughters; Carsyn and Emma, two sisters; Betty Martin and Sissie (Clyde) Jordan.
A graveside service will be celebrated 11:00 AM Sunday February 18, 2018 at Coral Ridge Cemetery. A reception will follow at Sid and Sue’s home.
