Angela Gayle Melton, 50 of Cape Coral, FL passed away on March 23rd, after courageously facing 3 ½ years of stage IV breast cancer. She was born in Tacoma, WA on Fort Lewis Military Base on February 17th, 1968 to Lydia Sue Crook and James Harrold Melton II.
Angela was passionate about learning and attended Florida Southern College as a Zeta Tau Alpha, Edison Community College. She earned an AS in Architectural Design and Drafting and at Columbia Southern University, a BS Environmental Management.
Multitalented with many different occupations over the years, her last position was teaching at Ida Baker High School ending in 2016.
Angela made jewelry, art, photography, blogged and was a self-taught guitar player and singer. She used her singing and playing talent whenever she could but more prominently at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers.
A nature girl and adventure seeker at heart, Angela loved the outdoors and was completely content camping and traveling. She was deeply passionate about our environment and practiced stewardship of our Mother Earth. Angela was very giving and loving often sacrificing herself for others.
Angela is Survived by her wife, Kimberly Littleton-together almost 26 years. She is also survived by her grandmother Imogene Crook, mother and step father Sue and Gene Shackelford, brother and sister-in-law Jim and Wendy Melton, nephews Logan and Zachary, brother and sister Cain and Myriah Melton, mother in-law Nancy Johnson Zimmer, brother in-law Roger Justus, and Nephews Deven and Joshua, great nephews Emmett and soon to be born, Kaden.
Celebration of Angela’s Life will be held at Unitarian Universalist Church of Fort Myers, Sat March 31st at 2:30pm, 13411 Shire LN, Fort Myers, FL 33912 www.uucfm.org
