Anna Johanna Sewell

Anna Johanna Sewall, 88 of Cape Coral, Florida died at Hope Hospice on May 14, 2019 with her family by her side. She was born December 27, 1930 to Vinzcent and Anna Johanna (Van Agteren) Gyenes. She was born in the Netherlands and the oldest of nine siblings.

Anna immigrated from the Netherlands in 1958 in search of the American Dream she settled in Shelton, Connecticut where she worked as a Nurse’s Aide for 45 years. She moved to Cape Coral, Florida in 1990 to enjoy the warm Florida sunshine. Anna loved to garden, fish, flower arranging, shopping and attending services at the Vineyard Community Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Olga (Buddy) Capristo; granddaughters Gina and Erica Capristo. Her Netherland family, Sisters Antonia Douma: Alegonda(Jo) Koning; Brothers Jozef (Leny) Gyenes and Hendrik Gyenes along with many nieces and nephews. Anna was predeceased by her parents Vincent Gyenes and mother Anna Johanna Van Agteren; siblings Vinzcent Gyenes, Roos Hallman, Regina Bellefroid and Johan Gyenes.

A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 7:15pm at Vineyard Community Church, 923 SE 47th Terrace, Cape Coral, Florida 33904. In lieu of flowers the family suggest donations be made to the Vineyard Community Church at the above address.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Hope Hospice for all the kindness & care they extended towards mom and her family. Also, a special thank you to her friends of the Vineyard Community Church.

Anna’s final arrangements are under the direction of Fuller Metz Funeral Home.
