Audrey Carlotta Telford-Emmons

Audrey Carlotta Telford – Emmons also fondly known as Buttons & Bows was born on January 1st, 1961 to George and Auraline Telford in La Grange Village, West Bank Demarara, Guyana South America.  She migrated to the United States on November 24, 1974 at the tender age of 13.  Her education in New York includes: Winthrop Junior High School, South Shore High School, Kingsborough Community College, VEEB, where she obtained her license in Practical Nursing (LPN) and then Regents College where she obtained her Associates Degree in Nursing and became a Registered Nurse (RN). Within the last 10 years she attended seminary school to satisfy her desire to be a minister and further promote the kingdom of God. 

Audrey was a God-fearing woman who had a zest for life.   She had a love for traveling and was able to travel to such places as Mozambique, Ghana, Paris, Italy, Rome, St. Lucia, Jamaica, Cuba, Thailand, Tibet and Israel, just to name a few.   She loved helping people and one of her earthly passions was as a registered nurse for which she served over 30 years.  She also served on a number of mission’s trips around the world to help build and provide better living conditions for people in poverty stricken areas as well as bringing souls to Christ. 

Audrey was known for her beautiful smile, it was one that can light up a room.   She always had a welcoming smile for anyone that crossed her path. She was also fondly known for her humor, wit, advice, support as well as her zest for life.  She always saw the good in others and was always supportive and spoke life into the thoughts, dreams and endeavors of others.  She was also a great confidant, who you can place your trust in and know that she would be there to listen and provide great advice, if or when needed.

On August 24th, 2018 Audrey’s untimely passing left us all saddened and heart broken.  She is preceded in death by her husband Davis and her father George.  She is survived by: her children Andrea, Jason, Justin and Alicia.  Her mother Auraline, her siblings Sandra, Brenda, Mark, Beverley and Graham and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews as well as a host of extended family and friends. 

Audrey will be sorely missed.  We are resting in the assurance that her mission on earth here is completed and she is resting in the comfort of the Lord’s warm embrace.
