Dr. Beulah Sellers Davis passed on Thursday September 3rd, Cape Coral, Florida. Born January 20,1924, to Dudley and Elsie Sellers, Limestone, West Virginia. Attended Limestone Elementary, Limestone High School, two years at Potomac State College. Earned bachelor’s degree at Ohio University. Received Master’s and PhD. at The Ohio State University. Taught high school home economics Canton, OH and Plain City, OH followed by 21 years at Ohio University first as Professor of Home Economics then Director of the School of Home Economics.
Co-authored textbook 1972, Consumer Decision Making a Guide to Better Living. Created batter bowl used in many kitchens still today. Professional leader in her field, holding national offices, authoring numerous articles for publication. Professor Emeritus Ohio University. Originated scholarships in her name and others at Ohio University. Loyal member of United Methodist Women and PEO International Chapter GD.
December 1970, married Paul A. Davis, a widower with three daughters. Continued at Ohio University until retiring in 1978 when she moved to Paul’s farm in Plain City, Ohio.
Preceded in death by her parents, Aunt Sally and younger sister, Patricia, husband, Paul and daughter, Dianne. Survived by brother, Dudley Sellers Jr., Lakeland, Florida, daughters Donna (Jim) Kill, Athens, Georgia and Paula (Ken) Eichbauer, Cape Coral,Florida. Nieces June Stewart (Ann), Lakeland, Florida and Dr. Julie Watters (Joe Gonzaga, Alex and Emma) Canonsburg, Pennsylvania. Grandchildren, Jennifer (Peter) Van Den Berghe, Bowling Green, Ohio, Heather (Ron) Barnes, Hampton, Georgia, Paul (Carlynn) Canton, Georgia, Rick (Sarah) Kill, Loganville, Georgia, Rebekah (Nick) Bratton, Swanton, Ohio, David (Shannon) Kill, Hampton, Georgia, Ashley (Joel) Newman Hoboken, New Jersey. Great Grandchildren, Andrew Van Den Berghe, James, Sofia, Ben and Abigail Barnes, Luke, Payton, Pressley and Lainey Kill, Preston and Jaydyn Kill, Molly and Jonathan Bratton, Greenlee and John David Kill and Oliver Kilian Newman.
Cape Coral Service: Tuesday, September 8, 2020, Cape Coral First United Methodist Church, 4118 Coronado Parkway; visitation 2 pm, service 3 pm followed by church reception.
