Beverley June Thomas

Beverley Thomas, 83, of Cape Coral, Florida, shared her last sunset with her family and friends on July 19, 2019. Beverley passed away peacefully at Hope Hospice in the Cape after fighting cancer for the last 18 months.

Beverley, formerly from the Canfield Ohio area, was an avid Lake Erie boater with her husband Michael who preceded her in death in 2010. They retired to the Cape in 1999 and enjoyed the relaxing Florida lifestyle together until that time.

Beverley continued to enjoy the Florida sun and fun together with her close friends and neighbors who became known as “The Little Wicked Widows”. They could regularly be seen in the local restaurants, clubs, and on the beaches of both Cape Coral and Ft. Myers living life to its’ fullest. If you ever came across this group of amazing ladies, Beverley was the one with the biggest smile, that would be talking, laughing or dancing until the the band stopped playing.

Beverly was a member of the Eagles, Cape Coral Elks, and St. Katherine’s Drexel Catholic Church

Her husband Michael Thomas preceded Beverley in death. Her two daughters, Terri Dodson and Son-in-Law Jeffrey of Indianapolis, and Tamara Thomas and Steve McCaffrey of Naples survive her. Beverley also leaves two grandchildren, Jeffrey Dodson Jr of Nashville, and Christine Dodson also of Indianapolis.

The family would like to thank the Nurses and staff at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral for their dedication and support, both at home, and at the Hospice House during Beverley’s illness. 

A small memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Hope Hospice on August 10, 2019 @ 2:00pm to celebrate Beverley’s life, and to say goodbye to a very special lady.
