Buell Milburn Ferguson age 84, son of Thelma Glazener Ferguson and William Stephen Ferguson, passed away on June 30, 2017 in Cape Coral, FL, after several months of declining health. Buell was born in Haywood County, North Carolina, on October 10, 1932. He was a Brevard High School graduate and received his Agricultural Engineering degree from Clemson University in 1954. Buell served 2 years in the US Army then joined the Army Reserve and served an additional 21 years, retiring as a Major. Buell worked concurrently for the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a Civil Engineer, and after 32 years of service, he retired as the Assistant Chief of the U.S. Soil Conservation Service. Buell is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Knight-Ferguson; daughter, Stephanie Ferguson; sister, Doris McGaha; and former spouse, Dolores Plyler Ferguson. Interment will be with full Military Honors at Sarasota National Cemetery on July 18, 2017, at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the charity of your choice.
