Carlos Cruz

Carlos Cruz, 77, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 24, 2019. Carlos was born in Puerto Rico to Carmello Cruz and Sylvia Roasrio in 1941. He relocated as a child along with his family to New York City. Carlos met the love of his life, Carmen Iris Reyes in the summer of 1957 at a party in Spanish Harlem. Carlos enjoyed boxing, was an artist who created music, oil painting and wood carving. He also enjoyed singing and was very athletic. His occupation was a jeweler and a U-Haul Manager.

Carlos is survived by his children Jorge Tomas, Sylvia and Michael; his brothers Angel Luis Rosa and Carlos Cruz; along with 6 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Carlos was pre-deceased by his son Carlos “Charlie” Cruz, Jr.

A visitation is scheduled for Sunday January 27, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. A Catholic mass will take place at St. Andrew Church on Monday January 28, 2019 at 11:00. The burial will take place at Coral Ridge Cemetery.
