Carmela L Swindell

Carmela L. Swindell, 85, of Cape Coral passed away Saturday October 2, 2021 at Cape Coral Hospital. She was born in Italy in 1936 to her parents Domenico and Maria Laurenti. She married Franklin in 1956 in Ceccano, Italy and celebrated 65 years marriage this past August 4, 2021. As a military wife she lived in many different countries and eventually moved to Cape Coral in 1994 where she worked for Publix Supermarkets in Lee County. Carmela was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and she was a big Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Survivors include her husband Franklin SR., two sons Franklin, Jr. (Cynthia) of Grayslake, IL and Richard (Maryann) of Aydlett, NC, two sisters; Vincenza and Lucia of Italy, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Carmela was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Rosa Marie and a grandson Brian.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday October 7, 2021 at 12:15 PM at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Ft. Myers Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family will receive friends for viewing Thursday starting at 11 AM at Fuller Metz Funeral Home.
