Cheryl Ann Hauck

Cheryl A. Hauck, 78, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away Monday March 20, 2023 in Cape Coral under the care of Hope Hospice.  Cheryl was born in Crestline, Ohio in 1944 to her parents Darrell LaBarre and Agnes Ball.

She graduated from Crestline High School in 1962.  Cheryl had been a resident of Cape Coral since 1971.  She was an office administrator for Lee County Schools and retired from Heights Elementary School in 2007.  Cheryl was active with the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Cape Coral and had served as Madame President.  During her tenure, she helped with the student scholarship programs and catered many club activities.  She was also a member of the VFW.

Lovingly known as “Mimi” to her family, she was an amazing cook.  Everyone looked forward to Mimi’s special recipes including her famous bruschetta and her original Holiday Elixir, which was always distributed to friends and family every Christmas.  Mimi was a talented seamstress and often did the alterations for her granddaughters’ Homecoming and prom gowns.  She loved having family over and particularly enjoyed her time on “The Porch” laughing and telling stories with everyone who came to visit.  No visit was complete without watching an episode of Family Feud with Steve Harvey.  She had a warm smile and an infectious giggle which was always a bit more pronounced in the presence of her beloved children and grandchildren.

She will be dearly missed by her sons, Tim (Rachel) Hauck and Jim (Joee) Hauck, granddaughters; Hannah (Josh) Rosene, Haleigh, MaKenzie and MakaylaJo Hauck, and one great grandson Jack.  Recently, “Mimi” was delighted to know that she has another great- grandson arriving sometime in July, which just filled her heart with joy.  She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 25th from 3Pm to 6PM at the Harvey Engelhardt Funeral Chapel 1600 Colonial Blvd. in Fort Myers.  The service will follow at 6PM in the chapel.  Please visit the tribute page to share a memory or condolence online at www.fullermetz.com.
