March 13, 1938 ~ May 22, 2023 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Dale Van Volkenburg passed away on Monday, May 22, 2023, at his home after a long-fought illness. He was 85 years old.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Faye Van Volkenburg. He is also survived by his 2 step-children: Ryan Boulden of Lehigh Acres, FL, and Amanda Boulden of Fort Myers, Fl. He is also survived by his son, David Van Volkenburg and wife Kathy of Upstate New York, his one grandson, Leigh Van Volkenburg and wife Rashelle and two great grandchildren, also of Upstate New York.
Dale was born in Little Falls, New York on March 13, 1938. He graduated from Dolgeville High School. He was also a member of the Dolgeville Volunteer Fire Dept. where he also served as the Fire Chief for a period of time.
Dale was a Carpenter by trade for many years, working on many projects in New York State.
After moving to the S.W. Florida area in 1990, he chose to work in the health care filed as a Maintenance Director/Assistant. He absolutely loved to work in that field.
He leaves behind many friends from up north, and many co-workers/friends that he had the pleasure of working with here in Florida.
It was Dale's dream to move to Florida. He loved the weather, and being the avid fisherman that he was, he couldn't wait for the opportunity to start fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He would also enjoy fishing in the many canals that were accessible behind his home, by boat in Cape Coral.
Dale also loved to work in the front and back yard with his wife, planting. He might also be building a gazebo to make his property look nice. Let it be said that Dale ws able to live out that dream and loved every minute of it.
After that was completed, he would enjoy a cold drink, and listening to country music while floating around in the pool with his wife. All while thinking to himself, "What a life!"
