David R Stewart

David R. Stewart, 66, of Cape Coral died October 16, 2019 at his home. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 2, 1952 to Robert and Patricia (Redlich) Stewart. He married Carol (Zawart) on August 21, 1971 in Pittsburgh. Dave graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a B.S. degree in Special Education. He moved to Cape Coral in June 1980. He taught for Lee County Schools for 30 years. The last 15 years he taught at Pelican Elementary in Cape Coral. He retired in 2013.
Dave was also a musician and singer as well as a local DJ. Through his music he will be remembered as a great entertainer that left a legacy of smiling, dancing, and good times.
Survivors include his wife Carol of Cape Coral, daughter Carrie (Michael) Radcliffe of Nashville, TN, son Mark (Mandy) Stewart of Cape Coral, three granddaughters; Amanda, Sydney and Nora Jane, brother Dale (Rita) Stewart and his mother Patricia Stewart all of Slippery Rock, PA.
