Welcome to the memorial page for

Dorian D Dragich

January 22, 1946 ~ June 19, 2017 (age 71) 71 Years Old
Dorian Dale Dragich, formerly of Youngstown, Ohio, passed away Monday morning, June 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by those who loved and will miss him dearly, just hours after celebrating a most meaningful Father's Day.

Dorian was born January 22, 1946 in Brownsville, PA, the son of the late Mike and Dorothy (Grover) Dragich. Soon after graduating high school in 1964, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. His heart for the military and his desire to serve his community and country continued throughout his lifetime. Following his honorable discharge from the Marines, Dorian was employed as a patrolman for 25 years with the Youngstown Police Department. He later worked as a Code Compliance Officer for the City of Cape Coral.

Dorian always loved being with family and friends, enjoying loud, energetic and passionate conversation. He happily lived a simpler life. He was a member of Christian Life Fellowship where he served as an usher. He was an excellent storyteller and enjoyed debating politics and reliving good times that often included his days spent boating, at the drag strip and the many "hot rods" he had owned and enjoyed over the years, particularly his 1973 Corvette, and most notably, his 1966 Chevy Impala SS. Dorian's most valued treasure, however, was undoubtedly his family whom he loved, protected, and cared for deeply.

On April 20, 1968, he married his love, the former Roseann Peplowski. They raised two children, Wendy of Lancaster, PA and Brian (Teresa) of Cape Coral. His legacy also includes three grandchildren, Michael John (Sashell), Carly, and Anthony; and two great grandchildren, Lincoln and Levi. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Michael J. and George.

A service will be held honoring Dorian's life at 7 PM, Thursday, June 22 at Fuller Metz Funeral Home in Cape Coral where friends may visit from 6 to 7 PM. A military service will take place Friday, June 23 at 9 AM at the National Cemetery in Sarasota Florida.

The family wishes to thank Hope Hospice, Doctor's Choice, the staff of FCS and the numerous doctors and nurses who provided excellent care, especially over the past three months. They also wish to thank the many friends who prayed diligently and demonstrated selfless acts of love toward them during this time.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Dorian's honor to the Wounded Warrior Project or Christian Life Fellowship in Cape Coral.
