Edward Wengorek

Edward Wengorek, 73, of Cape Coral passed away January 1, 2021 at his home in Cape Coral, Fl. He was born in Manhattan, NY in 1947 to his parents, the late Stephen and Aleksandra Wengorek. After graduating high school in 1966 he joined the US Air Force. He served honorably for 26 years and retired as Lt. Colonel in 1995. After his military retirement Ed was a school teacher in Georgia.
He married Christa in 1992 in Georgia and moved to Cape Coral, Fl in 2012. Ed was an avid bowler and enjoyed dancing.
Survivors include his wife Christa of Cape Coral, three sons; Jeff (Jessica) Wengorek of Virginia Bch, VA, and Juergen Kamphausen and Volker (Sandra) Kamphausen all of Germany, one sister Lucy (Konrad) Ptasinski of New Jersey, two grandchildren Virgil and Trinity along with numerous cousins and nieces.
Ed’s family will receive friends for viewing Wednesday January 6, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Fuller Metz Funeral Home. Burial with Air Force Honors will take place at Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island, New York.
Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Judes or Shriners Hospital for Children.
