Frank Alexander Donaldson

Sandy Donaldson was born on October 23, 1945 in Port Arthur, Ontario Canada.
He was raised in Sheet Harbour , Nova Scotia Canada by his parents John and Betty Donaldson.

Sandy attended the University of New Brunswick and later transferred to Saint Francis Xavier University in Antigonish, Nova Scotia Canada where he met his first wife Katherine White. Sandy and Katherine were married on July 8, 1967 at Christ The King Catholic Church in Trenton, Nova Scotia Canada. They went on to have three children Tara and Joel in New Glasgow Nova Scotia Canada and Jamie a few years later in Kingston, Jamaica.
Sandy later met his 2nd wife Lanna Halstead in Chico California, they married on September 5, 1982 in Paradise, California.

Sandy studied Forestry Engineering and worked many summers for Department of Lands and Forestry in Nova Scotia and Maine. In 1967 he began his career in the Telecommunications Industry as an engineer for Maritime Tel and Tel. His desire to see the world led him into the Telecommunications Industry as a contractor. He worked for many companies and traveled extensively throughout Canada, the United States, many islands in the Caribbean including an extended contact in Jamaica, Mexico, Vietnam, Nigeria, the list goes on. Sandy along with a few good friends that he had met on his last contract in Africa, started one of the many companies he would go on to build during his lifetime. Sandy loved his work.

Sandy was always involved and happily gave his time to many organizations over the years. He was a Boy Scout Leader, Football Coach and later a member of the Parent Booster Club during his sons high school football days, member of several planning boards and committees for towns and cities that he lived in. He supported many charities for animals and children. He loved life and always gave back.

Sandy was preceded in death by his parents John and Betty Donaldson, his beloved sister Kelty Donaldson, his youngest son and kidney donor, John James Scott Donaldson known by all that loved his as Jamie. His son Joel Christopher Alexander Donaldson the apple of his eye.

Sandy is survived by his wife of 37 years Lanna Donaldson or as we call her the Saint. His former wife Katherine Sedig his daughter Tara Donaldson-Cardona and her husband Herm Cardona. Daughter in law’s Christine Brinkman Donaldson and Melanie Hoffman. Grandchildren Bree Cardona Salgado and her husband Chris Salgado, Vanessa Cardona Small and her husband Kris Small, Cianan Donaldson, Gannon Donaldson, Cailey Donaldson, Madelyn Donaldson and Liberty Donaldson. Great Grandchildren Alaina, Ethan, Koraline, Kristopher and a Great Grandson on the way who will be named in his honor. Brother Bruce Donaldson, sister’s Mary Tozer and Jane Bowes along with several nieces and nephews.
