Gabriella Ursitti

Gabriella “Gabby” Ursitti, 94, of Cape Coral died peacefully Monday, June 6, 2022, at her home.  Gabby was born in Manhattan, NY in 1927 to the late Girardo and Carmella (Papace) Grosso. She married the “love of her life” Michael Angelo Ursitti in 1950 in New York. Gabriella was a devout Catholic who loved God and family. She was the epitome of a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  Her family was her world and she loved nothing better than to entertain family and friends with her delicious Italian dinners.  She loved her children dearly and raised them all to love God and family, as well.  Gabby moved to Cape Coral with her husband in 1977 where she became a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.   She joined a small group of friends known as the “Trimettes” in the early 80s.  She remained close to her childhood girlfriend, Helen Nastos, throughout the years.

Survivors include four children; Michael (Charlie) Ursitti, Jr. of Port Charlotte, FL, Geraldine (Frank) Anello of Syosset, NY, Diane (Greg) Strong, of Springfield, VA, and Mark Ursitti of Cape Coral; sister Anne Ursitti of Lehigh Acres, FL; sisters-in-law Mary Ursitti and Steffica Ursitti of Cape Coral, FL; eight grandchildren, two great granddaughters, three great grandsons and many nieces and nephews.  

Gabby was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Michael; grandson Matthew Anello; sister Mary Erra; and brothers, Pasquale “Pat” and Antonio “Tony” Grosso. 

Family will receive friends Monday, June 13, 2022, from 6:00 - 8:00 PM at Fuller-Metz Funeral Home located at 3740 Del Prado Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33904.  A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at St. Andrew Catholic Church located at 2628 Del Prado Blvd., Cape Coral, FL 33904.  Burial immediately following the Mass at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens located at 1589 Colonial Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33907.
