Cape Coral – George F. Noyes 73, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly Danvers, MA, passed away Friday, December 3rd 2021, at Hope Hospice, following a brief illness. He was the loving husband of Carol “Pixie” Noyes.
George was born in Stoneham, MA , on October 01, 1948, son of Edward and Eileen (Lynch) Noyes. In addition to his wife, Pixie, he is survived by his sister Nancy Cox and her husband Robert formerly of Melrose MA, now in Bedford NH, son Shawn Noyes and wife Tara of North Andover, MA and daughter Amanda Reading of Pass Christian, MS; grandchildren Allison, Sabrina, Kimberly, Nicole, and Paul Reading, Jacqueline and Logan Noyes; and great grandchildren Juno and Amira; as well as his many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. He is pre-deceased by his parents, as well as his Aunts Mary Lynch Mahoney, Rita Lynch Decoste, Florence Lynch Smith, Geraldine Lynch Gilchrist and Uncle Edward Lynch; as well as his brothers Peter Noyes and Philip Mansfield Sowerder.
Growing up in Melrose, George was an avid hockey player who later attended Northeastern University where he earned his degree and started a career in Respiratory Therapy. That is where is he met his wife Pixie. They were married on October 28th, 1972 celebrating the 49th anniversary this year. They moved to Danvers in 1979, and made many friends throughout town. George was an assistant coach for both kids hockey, baseball, and soccer teams in town, while working at Waltham Hospital. George later earned his Master’s degree from Leslie University and started Chair to There, a wheel-chair, and reduced mobility transportation company. George was quite adventurous, getting his boat captains license before he and Pixie sailed the Caribbean Ocean for nearly 10 years, as well as both getting their pilot’s licenses prior to their retirement into cruising.
Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
