George Treglia Jr., passed away on April 1, 2018. We were blessed with his presence on earth for 65 years. George was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is loved eternally and will be greatly missed. George was born on June 2, 1952 in Queens, NY. He grew up in Massapequa Park, Long Island. He was a lifelong collector who enjoyed finding rare baseball memorabilia. He also collected Franklin Mint Cars. George’s hallmark characteristic was a bushy mustache, which he sported throughout his life and was the envy of many men who could not accomplish such a feat. This made him quite the ladies' man. Nonetheless, George only had eyes for one woman. He met his bride Kathy on the Long Island Railroad. They have been faithfully devoted to one another for the past 40 years. George loved to make Kathy smile and would frequently bring her a piece of candy or a little treasure to keep her happy. George and Kathy understood that a successful marriage required equal parts love and humor. Together they raised four beautiful children and instilled in them the importance of family and love. George’s children remember the many times he took them to NY Mets games at Shea Stadium. George and Kathy relocated to Florida in 2003. He loved watching manatee and fish jump on his canal. George loved his family fiercely and loved pushing their buttons. Never did anyone push buttons with so much love. George is preceded in death by his parents George Sr. and Mary Treglia. He is survived by his wife Kathleen Treglia and his four children: George (Amanda), Christopher (Katie), Colleen Tallmadge (Joshua) and Meaghan Treglia. George had one grandchild Brigit Tallmadge who was the pride and joy of the last two years of his life. George was also survived by his brother Anthony (Lucy) of Port Chester, NY and his cousin Barbara Jane Treglia Murphy (James) of Huntington Station, NY.
A mass will take place at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, Cape Coral, on Friday April 06, 2018 at 10:30 AM.
