Gerald W. Coonrod

 
Gerald Wayne ( Jerry) Coonrod I  of Bokeelia, Florida passed on to his father in heaven on February 4, 2019. He was born on January 12, 1947 in Rensselaer, Indiana and raised on the Coonrod family farm in Buffalo, Indiana. He graduated high school with the class of 1965 at North White High School in Monon, Indiana. He married his high school sweetheart, Lucia Diana Pauley in May of 1964, and would be celebrating their 55th anniversary this year.  Jerry ran his own construction business until he retired in 2005 to Pine Island, Florida. Jerry was the father of one son, Gerald W. Coonrod II (and wife Lisa) of Port Charlotte, Florida, and three daughters, Jennifer L. Gluth of Cape Coral, Florida, Courtney L. Slavens (and husband Nathan) of Bokeelia, Florida and Kimberly Coonrod who now has her daddy with her in heaven. Jerry is not only survived by his wife and children, but also his grandchildren; Charlie, Brok, Brett, Breann, Cramer, Jerrin and Bill, and great grandchildren; Aidan, Noah and Emma. Jerry was a man of faith and family. He had a way of making others feel better just being in his presence. Not only did he cherish his time with his wife and children, he had close, loving relationships with his siblings; Ron, Melvin, George, Marie and Susie, and his nieces and nephews.
There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Buffalo Christian Church in Buffalo, Indiana at 12:00 p.m.. After the service, there will be a lunch to visit and reminisce. Jerry would not want monetary donations. He would ask instead that you use your time spreading love to your family and friends.
