Harry C Buffum

Harry Buffum, aged 97, died peacefully on March 12, 2018 at his home in Cape Coral, Florida of natural causes. Harry was born October 8, 1920, in New York state the son of Harry and Marie Buffum.

Harry served four years in the infantry as a second lieutenant with one of those years served in the Pacific.

Harry married Janet Kelley in 1947 and enjoyed living in New York, California, Massachusetts and New Jersey as he was transferred several times with his job. After 43 years, he retired from Conrail Railroad in 1984.

Harry and Janet moved to Cape Coral from Morris Plains, New Jersey in 1990 and since that move, they enjoyed all aspects of their life in Cape Coral. Being avid walkers, they not only became good friends with their immediate neighbors, but with anyone they met along their many walking routes.

Harry had just celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary in August of 2017 with Janet. In addition to raising their three children, he also enjoyed making stained glass and doing calligraphy. He also enjoyed some great adventures traveling with his wife.

Harry was an active member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Cape Coral.

Harry is preceded in death by his wife Janet. His survivors are his son Chris Buffum of Austin, Texas, his daughters Cindy Self of Atlanta, Ga. , Elaine Castelluzzi of Columbia, S.C. and his grandson Shawn Buffum.

A memorial service celebrating the life of both Harry and Janet will be announced at a later date and will be held at Faith Presbyterian Church at 4544 Coronado Pkwy, Cape Coral, Fl.
