Janice Lee O'Brien

Janice Lee O’Brien (Quillman) 81 of Cape Coral, Florida passed away quietly Monday, May 10th, 2021.

Jan was born September 23rd, 1939, in Louisville, Ky. She graduated from Manual High School in 1957. Jan received a BS in Education from the University of Louisville.  She was a devoted wife and mother. In her earlier years she was active with the American Cancer Society and the Melbourne Heights Woman’s Club.

She married Mark D. O’Brien on September 7th, 1963 in Louisville, Ky. They recently celebrated their 57th anniversary. She was greatly loved by many and as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be remembered for her generous spirit and endeavoring to help people throughout her life. 

Jan was also very instrumental in her husband, Mark’s almost 20 years in the 31st District of the Kentucky House of Representatives.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents, Carl J. and Ruth L. Quillman and her sister Dr. Karen Sorota and brother-in-law Dr. Phillip Sorota.

She is survived by her husband, Mark; her son Shawn O’Brien (Ruth) of Fort Myers Beach, FL; daughter Erin O’Brien of Louisville, KY; her grandchildren, Katherine Hollan (Josh) of Lexington, KY; and Scott Cutsinger of Louisville, KY and her best friend Judy Hall of Louisville.
