Tribute

JoAnn (Sydenstricker) Feliciano, born in Ypsilanti MI to George W. and Betty Jane (Blankstrom) Sydenstricker on Aug 8, 1952. Married 50 years to her loving husband, Eugenio, passed away at their home in Cape Coral, FL surrounded by loved ones on July 24, 2020.

The home she built with her husband, from the day they married on Jan 9, 1971, was a sanctuary to everyone and anyone. We are all family in her eyes, regardless of blood line or birth. JoAnn was ever welcoming, loving and accepting. She “never knew a stranger” because constantly, without fail she opened her home and her heart to every person she met.

If living this life is a test of faith, JoAnn proved no longer a student but a master. She was a mystery to some by her depth of grace. With strength to persevere in the most trying, difficult times. She truly shared burdens of others, right alongside them, as well as celebrations. She was a pillar of her church and active in the community. Yet her lifestyle and words of wisdom is what taught many to believe. JoAnn’s faith was Immense and Powerful.

Laughter and joy were her constant companions and JoAnn lived with the light of hope in her sparkling eyes. Always a delight to spend time with through her humor, exuberance, and a radiant smile! She enjoyed every day surrounded by her children, grandchildren, family and friends. They were the center of her world. Dear JoAnn will be mostly remembered by her magnificent smile and resonant laughter.

Galatians 5:22 best describes JoAnn Sydenstricker Feliciano… "the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control." ...because she embodied each of these. Her Beloved Savior, Christ Jesus, was made real to everyone, by the lasting legacy of her true Agape Love.

She is survived by her siblings: John (Teresa), George (Lisa), Lawrence - deceased (Barbara) Sydenstricker and Jaquelyn McPherson (Robert). A loving and devoted husband, Eugenio Feliciano, and her remaining children/spouses Denise Hatkow (Jay), Flor Teuta (Spouse of Eugene Feliciano who preceded her in death), Annette Feliciano-Zavalaga (Jose), and Kevin Feliciano. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews & grandchildren along with a vast extended family who will miss her deeply every day.
May she forever rest peacefully in the loving arms of God along with her eldest son, Gene, who preceded her in death on June 26, 2020.
