Tribute

John Vest Fors (Jack), 82, of Cape Coral, Florida, peacefully passed away January 30, 2020. He was the son of John Costa and Marion Vest Fors of Huntington, WV.

Jack was an avid lover of singing and developed this natural gift from a young age. This led him to sing professionally in many musical and theater productions.  His passion for song inspired and delighted his listeners.  Jack’s voice came from deep within his soul and this powerful energy in his beautiful voice was with him until the day of his passing.

Jack was a passionate, caring, and generous man who would go out of his way for his friends and family, and even for strangers.  Many would say he never knew a stranger and considered all his friend.

Jack graduated from Marshall University where both of his parents were esteemed professors.

He was an active member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity, and attended the University of Tennessee Graduate School. He served for 7 years in the U.S Army as a first lieutenant before moving onto a career with I.E. Dupont in International Sales and Marketing for 23 years. He later served as Vice President of Marketing for a medical device company in Princeton, NJ.  Following that, Jack partnered with an industrial security company, Allcomm Fiber in marketing for over 20 years.  After his retirement, he and his wife moved from Atlanta, GA to Cape Coral, FL.

Jack is survived by his wife, Maureen, daughters, Andrea Fors of Kihei, HI, Julie Liebnitz of Lee Summit, MO, and Laurie Lynn Hardin of Chicago, IL. He is also survived by a sister Margaret F. Grimes of Louisville, KY, and nephews, Nelson F. Grimes of W. Bloomfield, MI, Alex Westberry of Atlanta, GA, and Michael Westberry of Boston, MA. He is the father of 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  His first cousin Curtis V.Titus lives in Southbury, Ct. and his other cousin Marion Gray lives in Dennison, TX.
