Tribute

On June 10, 2020 at 77 years young, John L. Hoos passed away peacefully in his sleep. John was born on April 5, 1943. He was a loving husband, loving brother, loving uncle, loving father, and loving grandfather. John was a Purple Heart recipient after serving our great country during the Vietnam War.
He was devoted to his country as he served two tours of duty in Vietnam and then returned to the United States and joined the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He spent 30 years as a Special Agent of the FBI serving his country in a variety of roles to help protect our great nation.
John L. Hoos always fought for what was right in any situation. He fought for justice in this crazy world we all live in. John L. Hoos lived the FBI creed, Fidelity, Bravery, and Integrity.
John is survived by daughter, Heather Hoos Thornhill of Cape Coral, Florida (son-in-law Jody Thornhill), his beautiful granddaughter, Taylor Page Thornhill, his son John Chadwick Hoos of Cape Coral, FL. Survived by the mother of thier children, Jane Page Hoos Clegg of Fort Myers, FL. Also survived by Alison Ford, great niece Alex Ford, and great nephew Derek Ford.
John is preceded in death by Deceased FBI Agent and Wife Wendy Woskoff, his mother, Sarah Riley, father, John Hoos, Jr., and sister, Charlotte Ford, two nephews Greg and Glen Ford. He is also preceded in death by his four legged fury children, Hooskoff and Mildred which he loved dearly.
John lived a great wonderful life. He was well respected in the FBI during his time there and after he retired. We lost a great American Hero when he passed away. The world would be a better place if there were more people like our dad.
John’s favorite speech was Vince Lombardi’s “What It Takes To Be Number One”:
“Winning is not a sometime thing; it’s an all the time thing. You don’t win once in a while; you don’t do things right once in a while; you do them right all of the time. Winning is a habit. Unfortunately, so is losing.”
John L. Hoos was and always will be a winner. John you were and are loved by so many. God Speed Dad!
