Julie A. Vanherreweghe

January 13, 1962 ~ August 5, 2020 (age 58) 58 Years Old

Tribute

Julie Ann Van Herreweghe, nee Kreher, age 58, died August 5, 2020, with her lifelong best friend, Tim Jacobs, and her son, Michael Van Herreweghe, at her side, after her courageous fight with cancer.
She is survived by her two children, Laura (Justin) Deatherage of St. Louis, and Michael Van Herreweghe of Kennewick, Washington, her three grandsons, Gavin, Krystofer and Jordan, and her loving cat, Summer, who already misses her.
Julie was born in St. Louis, the sixth of seven children born to the late Richard (“Dick”) and Gladys (“Gay”) Kreher. She is survived by her siblings, Susan Roach Roussin (Bill), Nancy (the late Ronald) Arnold, Margie (Alan) Carter, Beth (Jim) Scheidemantel, Patrick (Deanna) Kreher, and Dan (Sharon) Kreher, and multiple nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.
Julie lived most of her life in St. Louis and made many dear friends there, but she dreamed of living in Florida. She boldly pursued that dream in June of 2019 when she relocated to Cape Coral, Florida. Julie had been her mother’s caretaker for many years in her childhood home, so her then 92-year old mother shared the adventure with her. Julie continued to care for her mother until she was no longer able to do so because of her illness. Though her time in Florida was brief, Julie thoroughly enjoyed living there. She was lovingly cared for during her illness by her sister, Beth, and her brother-in-law, Jim, until she was moved to Hope Hospice in Cape Coral.
Julie faithfully kept in touch with her many friends, via Facebook, throughout her illness and candidly shared her experience in battling cancer. Her beautiful, funny spirit will be missed by all who knew her.
Services: Due to the current pandemic, a Memorial service will not be held at this time but will be arranged in St. Louis in a few months. A private service will be held for Julie’s family at Hope Hospice, Cape Coral, Florida. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are appreciated to: Hope Hospice, Development Department, 9470 HealthPark Circle, Fort Myers, Florida 33908, or to a charity of one’s choice.
