June F. Geml

JUNE FRANCES GEML, 78 of North Fort Myers, passed away May 15, 2022 after a long battle with breast cancer. June is survived by her husband of 57 years, Michael, daughters Angela DeFranco (Robert) Patricia Hazlett, and son Phillip Geml. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Andrew, Alexander, and Matthew Geml, and Trevor and Abigail Hazlett and sister Virginia Linden (William). She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Beulah Covey. June was born in Glens Falls N. Y. Her family moved to Hialeah in 1947 where she spent her early years, graduating in 1962 from Notre Dame Academy. She met her husband Michael while he was stationed at Homestead Air Force Base, and they married in 1964. The family relocated to Ft. Myers in 1973, and to Cape Coral in 1978 where they lived for 27 years before moving to North Fort Myers in 2005. June was an avid reader, a lover of old time rock and roll, and dancing. She was also an avid sports fan, following the Miami Dolphins, and Marlins but her real interest was Cape Coral Little League, following first her son’s involvement, then the grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge the excellent care provided by Florida Cancer Specialists and the caring and compassion given by Hope Hospice.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 18, 2022 from 5:30 PM until 8PM at Fuller Metz Cremation and Funeral Services, 3740 Del Prado Boulevard South, Cape Coral. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 10:45 AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard South, Cape Coral. Entombment will follow at Fort Myers Memorial Gardens, Fort Myers.
