Welcome to the memorial page for

June M. Kosnac

June 28, 1931 ~ March 14, 2017 (age 85) 85 Years Old
June Kosnac passed away on March 14, 2017 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida after a long battle with Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP). She was 85 years of age. June was born on June 28, 1931 in Queens, NY to the late Henry and Anna Charous. She was one of three daughters, and grew up with sisters, Evelyn and Doris near the excitement of New York City.
On April 14, 1950, June married the love of her life, the late Ferdinand Kosnac, Jr. in NYC. They had a wonderful life together and traveled all over the world. June had a love of life and an adventurous spirit. She enjoyed vacations to island resorts, cruises, scuba diving, snorkeling, riding her motorcycle, parasailing in Cape May, swimming with dolphins in Hawaii, riding the London Eye, seeing Stonehenge, touring Windsor Castle, riding the train through the Chunnel to Paris, seeing the Eiffel Tower, the L'Ouvre, and having lunch at a sidewalk cafe. She even waterskied in the East River. She was an amazing cook and a talented artist. She had always been an avid reader.
June had lived in California, Florida, Connecticut, New York City (including Queens, Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Staten Island), and finally moved back to Florida in 2011. She enjoyed making charity quilts with the Cape Coral Quilters Guild. She also enjoyed going out on her son's boat, watching classic movies, doing crosswords and cryptograms (in pen!), and spending time with her family. She was loving, caring, sweet and gentle, always with a twinkle in her eyes. She will be remembered as a truly beautiful woman, inside and out. Her spirit stayed strong, even as the PSP progressed.
June was preceded in death by her husband, Ferdinand Kosnac, Jr. in 2004. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Henry and Anna Charous; sisters, Evelyn Sierota in 1976 and Doris Chacon in 2003; as well as grandchildren, Frederick Lesto Jr. in 1976, and Jeremy Kosnac in 2012.
She will be dearly missed by her children, Ellie Kosnac (Dave), Deborah Ann Kosnac Daggett, Ferdinand Kosnac III (Diana), Doreen Flanagan (Bill), and Veronica Kosnac Raffone (Adam); grandchildren, Vincent Caruso (Chastity), Angela Weiler (Eric), Teri Lesto, Macie Lesto, Ferdinand Lesto (Sarah), Kevin Daggett Jr. aka PJ, Kristen Kawasiki (Kenji), Ferdinand Kosnac IV, Kimberly Kosnac, Rebecca Kosnac, Shannon Flanagan, Lauren Flanagan, Michael Flanagan, Kevin Marshall (Amy), and Samantha Marshall; great-grandchildren, Sami Schmidt (Chris), Melanie Weiler, Larissa Sperruggia, Brittney Sperruggia, Tabitha Caruso, Damien Caruso, Jonathan Skinner, Daisy Skinner, Ferdinand Lesto Jr., and Mason Lesto; and great- great- grandson, Damien Schmidt.
A memorial service will be held at First Christian Church in Cape Coral on Sunday, March 19, 2017 at 2:00PM. In lieu of flowers, please donate to www.psp.org. The family would like to offer deep thanks to the caring staff at Hope Hospice.
