Tribute

Laura Mae Mann, 70, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 22, 2022 after a long illness. A daughter of the late Joseph Warren and Virginia Ellen Stull, she was born in Mannington, West Virginia on the 10th of March 1952. Laura married James S. Huffman (1948~1973) on April 12, 1970 and had two children. Laura married Richard G. Mann on November 22, 1989 and they built a life together in Alliance, Ohio before relocating to Cape Coral.

Born to a family of gentleman farmers Laura had a green thumb, enjoyed gardening, and made a career of her love of food and cooking. Laura attended the Pennsylvania Institute of Culinary Arts, graduating with a degree from the Pittsburgh campus in 1998. Before attending culinary school Laura had a career in office administration and worked for the City of Alliance for many years.

Laura’s heart was big, her generosity to family and friends even bigger. She was a loving wife, a compassionate mother, and a doting grandmother. Laura shared with her family a can-do spirit, a strong work ethic, and a love of the ocean. Closest to their hearts will always be the Thanksgiving Day tradition of listening to Arlo Guthrie’s “Alice’s Restaurant,” in its entirety, while spending time and relaxing with her in the kitchen.

Laura was preceded in death by her first husband, her parents, and her siblings: Roy, Phyllis, Wayne, Norma, Popeye, Dallas, Robert, Dennis, and David.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Richard, her children Staci H. Zake (Joseph) and Jason Huffman (Patricia), and her beloved grandchildren Zach and Malina. Also surviving Laura are her brother Bud Stull and many other loving family members.

A private visitation has been held. A celebration of life and headstone dedication will follow at the convenience of the family. You are invited to sign the guest register and share a memory at Fuller Metz https://www.fullermetz.com/tributes/Laura-Mann.
