Lois Fern Davis Ellebrecht passed peacefully into God’s hands surrounded by her family on July 22, 2019 at the age of 98 in Cape Coral, Florida. Born March 23, 1921 in Hamilton County, Illinois, daughter of Della May Johns Davis and Ranold Davis, she was the third of five children. She married Joseph J. Ellebrecht of St. Louis, Missouri on June 24, 1950.
She graduated from Thompsonville High School in Thompsonville, Illinois, moved to St. Louis to work as an Executive Secretary before retiring to travel the country with her husband who audited army bases. She attended Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri where she was a sister in the Delta Theta Tau Sorority. Always passionate about antiques she never met an old piece of furniture she couldn’t refurbish, and treasures found were treasures she lovingly cared for and displayed throughout her home. She was an accomplished seamstress and hatmaker, an avid gardener and an accomplished oil and acrylic painter throughout her life. Active in her Church, she loved her family and had a wide circle of friends, living life to the fullest until her last days.
She is survived by her nieces and nephews Alta McClerren Poppe, Daniel Warren McClerren, Jr., Susan McClerren Minaya and her husband Dr. Guido A. Minaya, Randy Supancic, Gary Davis and his wife Patty Davis, Jan Ellebrecht, Alan Ellebrecht and Judi Street; her cousins Babs Hill and Nancy Wessel, and her goddaughter Robin Hopkins-Fuller. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J.
