Mary Jo Harris

Mary Jo Harris (aka Peterson) passed at CC Hospice on Friday, Dec. 2nd from injuries related to Hurricane Ian.  Mama Jo, born to Ben & Mary Sievers in Clintonville, WI was raised on the family farm.
  
Moving to Cape Coral with her 2 children Tara & Ben in 1969, it was a different time back then.  With less than 10,000 residents, she could drive her car on Del Prado from CC Pkwy to Pine Island Rd at 55 mph with no stops guzzling a Nati Lite.  Raising 2 children, she worked as a bookkeeper at Union 76, Tipton Construction & CC Glass & Mirror.  Later on making more money, managing bars at Palmetto Pines Golf Club & the VFW.  Accompanying her young children in all the new city sports leagues (Little League, Babe Ruth, Pop Warner Football) she proudly coached/taught many girls their cheerleading skills.

Later in life she married Joe Harris and spent their time boating and golfing.  After Joe passed she took the helm of her boat and taught her granddaughters to water ski and love the area she always called Paradise.

Mary Jo is survived by her sister June Buchberger (Ken), 2 children; Tara Lukasik (Mark) and Ben Peterson; grandchildren Lauren & Taylor.

This avid Green Bay Packer fan requested no memorial, only that her family spread her ashes following the next GB Super Bowl win!
