Tribute

Max E. Litten, 71, of North Fort Myers passed away September 8 at Hope Hospice of Cape Coral. He was born January 1948 in Philadelphia, PA to Max and Alice Litten.
He is survived by his beloved wife Donna; sister Shirley DeMarchis and husband Dominick and brother Frank; six children, Michelle and husband J.R., Michael and wife Rachael, and Joe and wife Leah; his eight grandchildren Tyler, Matthew, Hailey, Jared, Anna, Meredith, Lucas, and Ronny; nieces and nephews.
Max grew up in Penndel, PA. He enlisted and served 3 years in the Army. After returning home, he met Donna who would be his wife for 46 years. As his family grew he would relocate from PA to North Fort Myers where he lived out his life.
Max was a great husband, father, and Pop-Pop. He took pride in participating in the lives of his family. He could often be found on a field, court, or sheet of ice helping out or watching his children and grandchildren. He passed on his spirit and values to his family as well as the love of sports, more specifically Philly baseball and Eagles football. Sunday afternoon lunches were also a favorite time for him to see everyone and catch up on weekly activities.
He was a visionary / dreamer. After working in the trades as a plumber, he began working as a non-emergency transport driver. He met people at different stages of their lives and treated them as his own family while driving them to doctors and hospitals. He valued those he transported as well as their families. Later he founded Advanced Quality Transport. He always had plans in motion.
The worth of a person is not measured by the joy they create but the hole that is left when they are gone (unknown author). Pop, you will be missed but your spirit will go on.
