Devoted Wife and Mother
Medivina “Medi” Mascardo Parza, 59, went into heaven on Friday, February 16, 2018 at HealthPark Hope Hospice House in Fort Myers, Florida with her family by her side.
Medi was born August 23, 1958, in Manila Philippines to Redentor and Lucy Mascardo and was the oldest of three children.
In 1980, Medi graduated cum laude from the University of Santo Tomas, Philippines with a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
In 1988, she met Leo Parza and on May 18, 1990 they got married in Metuchen, New Jersey and was blessed with two loving children.
She started working at Southwest Florida Regional Medical Center in 1981 and in 2016 received a Certificate of Recognition for 35 years of dedicated service. She was known by her colleagues for her tireless energy and as an excellent charge nurse. She nourished people around her with love, faith and compassion. She is very outgoing, loves to travel and an active member at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church serving as one of the Eucharistic Ministers for more than ten years.
Medi is survived by her husband Leo; children Kevin and Chelsea; father Redentor; sister Cristy and brother-in-law Ramon; sister Merlie and brother-in-law Norman Alcaraz, nephew Michael; and nieces Michelle, Rachel, Catey, and Nici.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lucy Mascardo.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 19, 2018 at 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the Fuller Metz Cremation & Funeral Services in Cape Coral, Florida. Funeral Mass and celebration will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at 10:00 am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Fort Myers.
