Uncle Mike was always my favorite. He was always kind & happy. I especially loved watching him as Grandpa Oak. Vernon & my Thomas always loved to play in the pool with Mike. He'd throw the boys & throw them some more, as many times as they wanted. ❤

Oak was the best uncle in the world! You can tell by the slide show, he was also the best father, grandfather, brother and friend. I have so many great memories of Oak that I am not even sure where to start. I know growing up we always had an endless supply of Sunshine cookies, crackers, and paraphernalia. I think that was why our house was so popular with the neighborhood kids. Swimming at Nina's pool, holidays in Cape Coral, and my favorite- staying up late telling stories, drinking soda (😱) and eating junk food on the back porch. When I was up at FSU (GO NOLES!) and he stopped by to see me- with his doughnuts and orange slices. I was too young to remember the first time I met Oak, but it was by far his favorite story of me! And he was the best story teller, so this won't compare to the way he always tells it! Aunt Lisa was visiting us and Oak drove down to Fort Lauderdale to see her (and meet us). I instantly fell in love with him- he was funny and nice and so handsome! When it was time for him to leave, I wasn't ready to say goodbye... So I hopped in his car and refused to get out. I was ready to leave it all behind and move in with Oak! He finally convinced me to stay by taking me to McDonalds and buying me a Happy Meal, which I think was my first Happy Meal ever. It was always our thing- he even brought one to me when I got married. I am going to miss his infectious laugh, his big hugs, his hilarious stories. I am going to miss him so much. I love you so much, Oak!

I was at first base for many a double play turned by Mike "Oak" O'Connor, the most sure handed second baseman I ever saw! I know, Mike, you will be sitting down with Yogi, Mickey, Thurman...and many of the other Yankee players to talk baseball. God Bless you, Mike, you've gone much too soon. What a beautiful family you have. My thoughts, prayers and deepest sympathy are with them all. God Bless.

I just watched the video... can you tell he was Irish? 😉
I always used to think my uncle Oak was the most handsome man. And I love that my cousins resemble him in so many ways. I loved his blonde eyelashes the most, they were so different and so cool! I remember when I noticed I had blonde eyelashes in some areas, I thought "like Oak!". He was an incredible man; always such a sweetheart to everyone. He was my favorite uncle, the best uncle I have. I told this story to Kelley, Katie and Lisa, but I think everyone should know what a soft heart Oak had. I remember one night, Kelley, Katie and I were up all night giggling. He had had enough and separated me. I cried because I didn't want to be alone, but Oak came in shortly after and asked me what was wrong. I told him how I didn't want to be alone so he let me go back in with the girls. This time we were quiet. We whispered until we fell asleep. Hehe, that memory always makes me laugh. He couldn't let me cry, even for a little and even though I was being a pain! Such a sweet heart. I love Oak so much. He was an amazing uncle to me. And I loved seeing photos of me and him together, smiling and laughing. I love you, uncle Oak and all of the O'Connors.

God bless and God speed to "Oak", on his journey home. He didn't ride the "pine" while playing for North"s Varsity baseball team...and he won't ride the "pine" in heaven either.
I have great memories of "Oak" and Tom Daleo Rick Moeller and my brother Doug David in our home in North Ft. Myers...all smiles, while talking base ball and having a black-jack...waiting to go out and have fun on a Friday night. What a great guy, he will be missed by all.
May God comfort his family in these trying times.
Faith and love and memories...will help you get through the times, that test us all.
I'll always remember the super nice guy, that always treated me with kindness and respect...even though I was 3 years younger, in 9th grade & only on the J.V. base ball team.
Tim's I see you again "Oak"...god bless.
I bet there singing "take me out to the ball park..."
In honor of Mike's arrival in heaven, as he makes his last run around the bases.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mike was the real deal. He loved his family and spoke of you every time I saw him. He was an ear for me when I lost my mother. He always had the time for others. I will miss him.

Oak, was the nicest guy, if you looked up the term "Good Guy" in a dictionary a picture of Oak would be there. I know he's in a better place watching old Seinfeld episodes and Yankee games. He will be truly missed....

Thank you Oak- I Love you Lisa XOXO
Not one of you will ever understand. It's a relationship that only happens in the movies. Hate me. Love me. Don't care. Oak Loves Me. He knows I love him and I know Him very well.
Damn, Really I asked him to marry me and- look what we got 😊.
I lost my Best Friend, the father to my girls, my sounding board- My Rock. Didn't always agree. But ALWAYS worked it out, always.
I wish you could all have one of Him.

My heart is saddened to know Oak is no longer with us. 😭 I always enjoyed his company. We had some great times together. I felt he was more a brother in law than cousin in law. He loved life, his 3 amazing girls, and his grandkids were the light in his eye. Rest in pease Oak. Know you will be missed. Prayer for the family, I love you all.
