Paula M. Slutz, 68, of Cape Coral, Florida passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 27, 1951 where she was raised with her brother Billy and three sisters, Rosalie, Lisa, and Elizabeth. Paula graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School in Delaware and attended the University of Delaware before starting her career with the Bank of Delaware. She later worked for Arco Chemical Corporation as a Human Resources Specialist where she met Margaret Thatcher. Paula also served on the Board of Directors for Housing Development.
On September 10, 1993, she married the love of her life, Brian D. Slutz. She was a devoted homemaker with a great love and talent for fashion and interior decorating. She was an avid horticulturist and throughout her illness, Brian would take pictures of her plants and gardens so she could see them. She was an extremely skilled chef and attended the C.I.A. in Nappa Valley, California. Paula had lived all over the country and created beautiful homes in Pennsylvania, Delaware, Kentucky, Cincinnati, Ohio, and Florida. She loved to travel and went all over the world, including London, Brazil, and throughout the U.S. and Mexico. Her favorite place was San Francisco, California. She thought it was the best place on earth.
She will always be remembered for being extremely intelligent, funny, witty, kind, loving, and always making everyone laugh.
She will be dearly missed by her husband, Brian, parents, Anne and Pete DiPiero, step-children, Danielle Slutz and Brian Slutz, step-grandson, Jordan Slutz (Delaware), niece, Melissa and niece/god-daughter, Jessica Rubbert, Sister in law, Lisa Rubbert, Brother in Law, Christopher Rubbert, (N.Y.), as well as close friends Grace Ramero and the late Tanya Gidding.
Paula loved her animals as her children. they included her cat, Sara, dog, Pippi, giant schnauzer, Tinker Bell, giant schnauzer, Einstein, chihuahua, Lola, horses; Sweetie Pie, Hot Sauce, Big Mama, Sweetie, Tommy Halflinger; and various chickens and other kitties.
A private memorial service will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 11AM, followed by a reception at the Fuller Metz Funeral CHapel in Cape Coral.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Cape Coral Kidney Center American Renal Associates 2735 Santa Barbara Blvd, Cape Coral, FL 33914.
