Phillip Autry, Sedberry, 85, Cape Coral, Florida passed away May 21, 2021. He was born January 25, 1936 in Kuttawa, Kentucky to Oscar Lee Sedberry and Elsie E. Woodruff.
He joined the Air Force when he was 17 years old and served for 21 years. He met his wife May Lee Stukas at the Oak Lawn, Illinois “Round Up;” they married in 1957 at St. Albert The Great Church in Oak Lawn. Since he was in the Air Force they travelled all over the United States. He was even stationed in Okinawa, Japan.
He won several awards and medals including the Air Force Longevity award with 4 oak leaf clusters; the Air Force good conduct medal with 3 oak leaf clusters; the Army good conduct medal; the National Defense Service medal; and the Air Force Commendation medal with 2 oak leaf clusters.
He retired from the Air Force in 1974 and worked for the Federal Aviation Administration in Miami, Florida for 27 years. He retired in 2001 and moved to Cape Coral.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years May Lee and his children Phillip, Keith and Marcella.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 3, 2021 from 9:30AM until 10:30AM at Fuller Metz Cremation and Funeral Services, 3740 Del Prado Boulevard, Cape Coral, Florida 33904. Full military honors will be at 10:00AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00AM at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 2628 Del Prado Boulevard South, Cape Coral, Florida 33904.
