Preston M.“Butch” Banning, 77, a Cape Coral resident, formerly from Farmington, MN, passed away on April 03, 2018. He was born October 10, 1940 in Hopkins, MN to Charles and Ione Banning, now deceased; brother to Rad Banning and Charles “Buster” Rademacker, also deceased.
Butch joined the Marines at age 17, attended Mankato State University where he was a Phi Delta Theta, retired as an Air Traffic Controller from Minneapolis Center and has been active in community service through out his lifetime supporting many organizations through volunteer work including Ducks Unlimited, Lions, Eagles and most recently active with the Cape Coral Power Squadron.
Survived by his wife of 44 years Patricia L. Banning, and 3 daughters Pamela Banning (Dan) of El Cerrito, CA, Kari Banning-Golla (Matt) of Prior Lake, MN and Beth McCulloch (Allen) of Minneapolis, MN; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild as well as numerous extended family members.
