Richard L. Futral

Richard Lee Futral, 74, was born in Beckley, W. Virginia, March 4th, 1947, to parents Eugene and Mary (June) Futral and passed away on Easter Sunday, 04/04/2021 in the arms of his loving son, Farrell, and daughter in law Beth at Hope Hospice in Fort Myers, FL.

Richard moved to Fort Myers, Florida shortly after birth with his family and called Lee County home for the rest of his life. He married Linda Ann Blythe in Cookeville, Tennessee in 1972, and had two sons, Forrest, and Farrell.  He started his own real estate appraisal firm in 1972 and become a well-respected real estate appraiser in Lee County, serving his community for over 40 years before retiring in 2014.
Richard had a great sense of community and was a devout member of several charitable organizations and was involved in the Elks Lodge of Cape Coral, serving for many years in leadership roles, especially for the children of SWFL, and acting in concern for the homeless.

His greatest love and joy came from spending time with his family and friends. His wife, Linda, sons Forrest, and Farrell (Beth) and two grandsons, Thomas and Mark who were the love of his life.
After fighting the good fight, Richard departed this life on Easter Sunday, where he was reunited with the ones, he loved that preceded him in death; his loving parents, and all four of his siblings, along with his beloved wife, Linda, and son Forrest.  This eternal reunion in the presence of God brings great peace great peace to those who survive him.

Richard is survived by his son Farrell, (Beth) Futral, grandsons, Mark, and Thomas (mother, Danielle Baxter) along with his brothers’ and sisters’ in-laws and many nieces and nephews,
A celebration of life will be held April 17, 2021 at 1 pm, in person or online at Faith United Methodist Church, www.faithum.com  15690 McGregor Blvd. Fort Myers, FL 33908 with Pastor Katherine Frumoff officiating.
