Richard Arlen Leppert

Richard A. Leppert, 90, formerly of Dublin and currently residing in Cape Coral, Florida since 1983, passed away January 28, 2021. He was born March 16, 1930 in Columbus, Ohio.

He was a graduate of Dublin High School where he was the Quarterback of the first Dublin Football Team. In Basketball, he scored the winning basket in sudden death to beat Worthington for the first time ever. He served as a Captain in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Richard is a life member of the VFW and a Mason and member of Aladdin Temple Shrine and, Starlight Rebekah Lodge #856 OES. He also was a member of the Dublin Historical Society and served on the Dublin Board of Education for 12 years.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph A. & Georgia Mae (Geese) Leppert; wife of 44 years, Jo Ann (Moon) Leppert; second wife, Shelia McConnell; son, Richard A. Leppert II; grandson, Richard A. Leppert III. He is survived by his daughter, Rebecca L. Coleman of Cincinnati; grandchildren, Pamela Leppert, Robert Leppert, Ric Coleman and Dan Coleman.

Graveside services are Saturday February 6, 2021 at 11AM  at Dublin Cemetery, 81 W. Bridge Street, Dublin OH with Military Honors. Social distancing and wearing masks will be practiced at all events. Visit fergusonfuneralhomeinc.com to share a special memory.
