On December 27, 2021, Robert (Bob) Lorenz of Cape Coral, FL, previously of Ossining, NY,
passed away at the age of 72. Bob was born in Vienna, Austria in 1949. He is predeceased by
his parents Martin & Maria Lorenz, and brother Joseph Lorenz.
He is survived by his son, Jason (Sharon) Lorenz of Ossining, NY, daughter Amy (Mike)
Thibeault of West Warwick, RI, and three grandchildren; Jared and Jordyn Lorenz of Ossining
NY and Jax Thibeault of West Warwick RI. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael (Ann)
Lorenz of Ossining NY, Stefan (Freida) Lorenz of Telford PA, Mathias (Phyllis) Lorenz of
Poughkeepsie NY, Sister-In Law Ingrid Lorenz (Somers, NY), cousin Annemarie Robinson of
Cape Coral FL, many nieces & nephews, and former wife Diane Lorenz.
Bob graduated from Ossining High School in 1967. He joined the U.S Army in 1969 and served
in Vietnam as an RTO and later as the company clerk with B 6/31 from February 1970 until
August of that year, when the 9th returned home. He finished the remainder of his time in
Vietnam with 25th Division and First Cavalry. After his tour in Vietnam, he completed his time
with the U.S. Army in Germany.
Bob graduated with an Associates degree from Westchester Business Institute (WBI) in 1980.
He held various accounting positions and from 1988-2001 he was the owner and operator of
Burds Card & Gift, Ossining, NY.
Bob was a 53 year, life member of the Washington Hook & Ladder, Ossining, NY where he
served as Financial Secretary for many years. Bob was also an Honorary Member of the
Bavarian Club Edelweiss, Westchester, NY.
The family intends to hold a private ceremony in NY at a later date.
