Rodney Douglas Flynn

RODNEY “ROD” DOUGLAS FLYNN, age 59, lived in Cape Coral, FL since 1988. He passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2018.

Rod was born in Louisville, KY on January 16, 1959. He graduated from Durrett High School and continued on to receive is Bachelor of Arts from University of Kentucky and his Juris Doctorate from Florida State University in 1988.

Rod was married to Diane Dramko on May 19, 1990 for almost 30 years.

Rod was an attorney practicing in Cape Coral, FL since 1988. He was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, member of the Florida Bar and Lee County Bar Association. Throughout his life, he coached his son in basketball, was a predominant member of High Hoops Basketball, and was a liaison for teams for the City of Palms Tournament in Fort Myers for over 10 years. When Rod was not watching University of Kentucky basketball or Florida State football, he was an avid reader of history, travel, and science fiction. His family and friends’ fondest memories of Rod were of the many trips around the United States including a three week RV trip out West.

Rod is survived by his wife, Diane Dramko; children, David, Christine, and Samantha; his mother, Joyce Flynn-Hughes; and brother, Scott D. Flynn. His father, Carl W. Flynn, predeceases Rod.

The family is having a celebration of Rod’s life at Fuller Metz Funeral and Crematory Services, which is located at 3740 Del Prado Blvd. S., Cape Coral on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10:00 am. Service begins at 11:00 am with a reception to follow at his home. The family asks that guest dress casual, as Rod was not one for formal attire.
