Ruth D Locke

Ruth Gard Locke, 71, passed peacefully on April 21, 2024. She was
born on February 26, 1953 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to Raymond
and Barbara Gard.
After college she worked as an Occupational Therapist because she
thought it important to help people with physical limitations. After
being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s she sung in the Intermezzo Choir in
Fort Myers, again because she wanted to give back to the community.
The reality is that the Intermezzo Choir gave more to Ruth then she
gave them! It brought her great joy to sing.
She leaves behind her adoring husband, Kenneth, her son Richard of
Las Vegas, and her daughter Sarah Shanken. Sarah and her husband
Ahmed Taha have four children, Safiyah, Hamza, Joy and Maria. Her
brothers Michael, (Michigan), and Dave also survive her.
Kenny would like to thank the Intermezzo women, along with the
Joseph Demornes Adult Care Home where Ruth spent the last 2
months of her life being loved and cared for like family.
