Shirley Jane Holowell, 87, of North Fort Myers, FL passed away Tuesday, Oct. 22, 2019. Born Jan. 11, 1932 in Oil City, PA, she was the daughter of Edward Ferguson and Grace Blauser Ferguson King. Shirley attended Oil City schools, and in 1948 married Charles Leroy Holowell, who preceded her in death in 2010. They were married for 62 years.

Shirley's faith and family were an important part of her life. She was active in the churches that she attended, at Donation Hill in PA and in FL. She enjoyed watching TV, crafts, word puzzles and was known for baking banana bread, which she shared with family and friends.

Shirley worked for 25 years at Mellon Bank in Oil City, from which she retired as an officer in the trust department.

Besides her husband, Shirley was preceded in death by a son, Charles Holowell, Jr., a sister, Dorothy (Fran) Reed, two brothers, Edward (Betty) Ferguson and Richard Ferguson, and a granddaughter, Denise Irwin.

She is survived by four sons, Michael (Marsha) Holowell, David (Barbara) Holowell, Joseph (Kim) Holowell, Delbert (Dorothy) Holowell; two daughters, Peggy (Scott) Bard and Catherine (Mike) Hines; and daughter-in-law Connie Holowell.

Also left to cherish her memory are grandchildren Wendy (Jim) Flaherty, Jackie (Tom) Stack,
Kari (Rick) Simmons, Steve (Bridget) Holowell, Lisa (Robert) Urban, Diana (Steve) Colella, Kevin
(Beth) Bard, Kris (Suzi) Bard, Dawna Holowell, Ira (Cory) Holowell, Isaac (Ashley) Holowell, Tyler Holowell, Brandi (Dave) Hagemier, Dusty (Fallon) Hovis, Michael (Jennifer) Hines, Stephanie (Matt) Perry, Matthew (Crystal) Holowell, Josh (Whitney) Holowell, Zach (Paige) Holowell; 33 great grandchildren and 16 great great grandchildren; a sister, Jeannette (Bill) Fisher, a sister-in-law, Marlene Ferguson, a brother-in-law, Ernie (Melinda) Holowell, Jerry (Ruth) Yoder, Dave Irwin and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fuller Metz Cremation & Funeral Services of Cape Coral, FL is handling arrangements. A
memorial service is being planned for July in Pennsylvania.
