Susan S Whiteis

April 19, 1942 ~ November 13, 2017 (age 75) 75 Years Old

Susan Whiteis was born in Holland, Indiana to William H. Long and Frances S. Long on April 19, 1942. Through the years, Susan enjoyed sewing, crafts, and dance. She attended Howe High School in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduated in 1959. She then attended Purdue University in Lafayette, Indiana. Shortly, thereafter, she married Robert H. Whiteis on the 12th Day of Christmas in 1961. Suzy and Bobby brought into the world two beautiful sons, Robert and Ronnie. The two boys were the joys of their lives. Susan worked as an operator at Bell Telephone Company for a while, and then as a bookkeeper at the UAW for approximately 30 years.
Suzy and Bob loved horseback riding and belonged to various equestrian societies. They, also, belonged to the National Gold Wing Road Riders Association and were part of the National Winners of Best Dressed Chapter. Suzy loved both horses and sea horses.
Upon retiring, they moved to Cape Coral, Florida and became members of The New Comers Club. The group evolved into The Sunflakes and refused to disband. Their Sunflakes family still remains together even after almost 20 years.
Suzy lost Bobby on February 21, 2016. She was shortly; thereafter, diagnosed with lung cancer. Suzy was a very proud, passionate, fighter, as well as being a lover of life, family, and friends throughout her years. Our Lord, Jesus Christ, allowed her eternal peace on the night of November 13, 2017. She leaves behind so many loving, warm hearted memories.
She, also, leaves behind her sons, Robert and Ronnie, along with her daughter-in-law, Joni. Also surviving Susan are her sister, Patricia, and her brother Henry. Jimmy, her nephew, and Kristin, her niece, plus 2 great nieces (Kelsey & Emma) survive and miss her, also.
Suzy made this world a much better place while she was on earth. Now, our lives are emptier, but filled with great memories. She will be missed by all!
