Thomas Jefferson Whatley III (T-Bone), 94, died December 4, 2017 in Cape Coral. He was born to Margaret (McKibben) Perry and T. J. Whatley Jr. on March 25, 1923 in Dothan, AL.
He is preceded in death by his parents; his son, Jeff Whatley; Half-brother Gene Whatley; his loving companion, Agnes Thornber.
T. J. served his country in the U. S. Army during WWII. He graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Aeronautical Administration.
T-Bone had many talents. He flew airplanes, built cars, businesses, and houses but his greatest achievements were the boats he constructed and sailed. T-Bone loved to sail. He was well known locally as an accomplished sailor logging countless miles. In the early 1960’s, he was one of the founders of the Caloosahatchee Marching and Chowder Society.
T-Bone is survived by his daughter, Becky Bartos (Mike), grandson Michael Bartos, granddaughter Kristen Savage (Corey), great grandsons Hunter and Noah Savage all of Ft. Myers.
